Specializing in the injection of thermoplastic parts since 1952, Moulages Plastiques du Midi (MPM) is strengthening its differentiation strategy by creating a new strategic business area (SBA)
“protection”, and launching its first product prototypes for the defense market.
MPM was present at the SOFINS 2025 trade show from April 1 to 3, 2025 at Camp de Souge in Gironde to unveil its first holsters prototypes. Alongside Alsetex, Falken and Milton, MPM showcased its know-how and innovations. The products in the Holsters range presented at this year's event aroused real interest among special forces and armed forces, who were able to handle and test their lightness and ergonomics. A successful first step for MPM in this new strategic business area.
For this first edition, the MPM team was keen to present 3 unique prototypes from the Holster range dedicated to the Glock 17 (Gen 5)
Holster Model 1 for Police, Gendarmerie, Customs: This first model is equipped with a double safety system (trigger guard and breechblock) which enables the weapon to be kept securely in its holster. Ergonomics have been designed to facilitate movement.
Holster Model 2 for Special Forces: The first model in the range is equipped with a unique trigger guard retention system, offering a quick and secure grip. It is distinguished by its sight protection and magazine button guard. Designed for more specialized use by the army and special forces, this model is compact and lightweight.
Model 3 holster with lamp and red dot options for Special Forces: also featuring a trigger guard retention system, this holster is specially designed for demanding missions. In addition to red dot sights, it is compatible with the most popular tactical lamps: TLR1 and TLR2. Like Model 2, it comes in an optimized form: lightweight and ergonomic.
At the same time, MPM is developing a complete range of accessories for maximum adaptability.
In its desire to offer a complete, modular solution, MPM has developed an innovative attachment system with interfaces and plates compatible with the biggest players on the market. The system developed by MPM enables fast, versatile mounting on a variety of supports. Thanks to a patent registered with the INPI, MPM integrates an automatic quarter-turn locking mechanism and a quick one-handed release. MPM continues to develop its state-of-the-art equipment, combining performance, safety and practicality for defense professionals.
MPM doesn't stop at holsters, and continues to develop this new "Protection" segment by studying all aspects of the field.
Currently under study are new-generation ballistic shields and plates, offering considerable weight savings. With these projects, MPM is aiming to develop an offer that optimizes operator protection. The first prototypes should see the light of day in a few months' time, for presentation at MILIPOL Paris, with a view to marketing the range in 2026.
